Background Sources
Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority (PENRA) (
http://penra.gov.ps/), the Palestinian authority responsible for energy and natural resources, established under its own founding law, with departments for electricity transmission, energy and electricity, projects and rural electrification, and gas and petroleum, and which publishes announcements including those concerning solar energy systems
02Project Background
Electricity and renewable energy in Palestine fall under the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority (PENRA). The authority's website records that it was established under its founding law and that it comprises departments for electricity transmission, energy and electricity, projects and rural electrification, and gas and petroleum, covering the management and planning of electricity transmission, energy and rural electrification, and oil and gas, and that it publishes announcements on electricity supply, electricity investment and solar energy systems. Power reliability and the use of renewable energy in health facilities fall within that policy scope.
