02Project Background

Saudi Vision 2030 targets 50% of electricity from renewables by 2030, with solar PV and storage as the core delivery route. The project is located in the Red Sea Economic Zone, supplying clean power to the new city and its industrial loads while providing peaking capacity and enabling renewable curtailment relief for the grid.

Land allocation, grid connection consent and environmental permits are in place. The works are procured as a single design–supply–construct–commission–energise package. Contractors must demonstrate GW-scale integrated PV and electrochemical storage delivery capability and commit to local content (IKTVA).
